Welcome & Networking Night
- 23 September 2025
📍 The Student Union
- 90+ attendees
The year started exactly the way we hoped — a packed room, new faces, and finance talk that didn’t stop until the lights came on.
Our season-opening Welcome & Networking Night brought together more than ninety students — newcomers and returners alike — for an evening of introductions, conversation, and a fiercely contested finance quiz.
The committee opened the night by introducing the Society, walking through the term ahead, and explaining how the CV Mentorship Programme works. From there, the room did the rest. An icebreaker quiz got tables debating market predictions, favourite companies, and first-internship horror stories, and the energy carried straight into open networking.
By the time the evening wrapped, dozens of students had signed up as members and a healthy queue had formed at the mentorship desk. More than anything, the night set the tone for the term: welcoming, curious, and genuinely social — proof that finance is a lot more fun with other people in the room.
